Traffic crash results in death

A man is dead following a collision in the town of Dellona on Dec. 3.

According to the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred at about 2:10 p.m. at Highways H and P. A preliminary investigation found that a 2003 Toyota Highlander was traveling west on Highway P and trying to go west on Highway H when it turned into the path of an oncoming dump truck. The driver of the dump truck tried to avoid a crash but the two vehicles still collided, with the front of the truck hitting the driver’s side of the Toyota.

The Toyota was driven by Ronald B. Kannenberg, 59, of rural Wonewoc. He died at the scene, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The driver of the dump truck, Raymond F. Johnson, 53, of La Valle, was not hurt in the crash.

Assisting at the scene were the Reedsburg Fire Department, Reedsburg Area Ambulance Service, Wisconsin State Patrol, Sauk County Coroner’s Office, Platt’s Towing and Zeman’s Towing.

The incident remains under investigation.
