RAMC updates COVID-19 policies

Reedsburg Area Medical Center has adjusted a couple of its operations amid coronavirus.

In the emergency room, patients may have one symptom-free support person as long as said patient doesn’t have COVID-19 symptoms or other contagious conditions. The support person will be asked to leave the room if the patient requires aerolizing treatments. This may include the use of nebulizers, breathing assistants and high amounts of oxygen. Exceptions may be considered for pediatric and end-of-life care as long as those involved are symptom free.

Reedsburg Area Senior Life Center is closed for visits except for certain “compassionate care situations.” Family should contact the center to discuss these types of scenarios if they have questions.

Previously enacted policies remain in place. This means no visitors for hospital patients. Exceptions will be made for pediatric and end-of-life care as long as there are no COVID-19 symptoms and other contagious conditions, or if the patient requires breathing treatments.

In the Birth Center, only one symptom-free support person is allowed for the duration of the patient’s stay. The same is true for the Surgery Center.

Clinic and hospital outpatient appointments may have one support person for pediatric patients or those with special needs or assistance requirements.
