Community First donates $10,000 to Boys & Girls Clubs

Community First Bank has contributed $10,000 to benefit Boys and Girls Clubs in Reedsburg and Baraboo.

Locations will receive $5,000 each through a grant obtained from the Federal Home Loan Bank in Chicago.

Members of the Home Loan Bank apply for grants through the Targeted Impact Fund to provide relief to populations hardest hit by COVID-19. The program also promotes equity and opportunity for people of color.

Donations will provide academic and social support to more than 800 children in Sauk County.

“The continued support of Community First Bank is essential to our clubs both in Reedsburg and Baraboo,” said Karen DeSanto, executive director for the Boys & Girls Club of West Central Wisconsi, in a statement. “Community First Bank has been and remains a key partner in the success of our greatest assets: Our kids.”

Cathy Yanke, CFB regional branch manager for both the Baraboo and Reedsburg branches, said, “The Boys & Girls Clubs in Reedsburg and Baraboo have made such a huge impact on the lives of so many kids. The clubs offer a safe, nurturing and educational environment that allows our children to grow in many ways.

 Community First Bank was also able to donate $5,000 to the Southwest Technical College Foundation’s Support our Students Fund. They have locations in Baraboo, Boscobel, Fennimore, Livingston, Muscoda, Platteville, Prairie du Chien, Reedsburg and Richland Center, and have served their communities’ needs since 1871.
