Special Olympians go to State bowling tournament


Five Reedsburg Special Olympics athletes competed in the State bowling tournament in Wausau on Dec. 5. They included, from left, Annie Zekas, Lucy Cunningham, Kaylee Clark, Macie Beyer and Anna Froehlich. Weston boys drop 2 on basketball court

Weston could not carry over the momentum from an opening night win in high school boys basketball last week. The Silver Eagles dropped a non-conference game on the home floor and also lost the conference opener on the road.

Weston girls fall to Necedah, Seneca last week

Weston played well at times but came up short on the scoreboard in a pair of high school girls basketball games last week. The Silver Eagles lost on the home floor vs. Necedah before falling on the road at Seneca in the Ridge and Valley Conference to close out the week.

Reedsburg girls have 3 games this week on basketball court

Reedsburg got an up-close look at one of the top high school girls basketball teams in the state last week at RAHS.

State-ranked Beaver Dam came to town and showed off their skills in a 79-39 win over the Beavers in a Badger Conference cross-over game.

Reedsburg Beaver gymnasts open season this weekend


The Reedsburg Beaver gymnastics team is poised for another big season with the girls opening the competition season Friday night in Baraboo. Reedsburg has sent its full team to the WIAA State Meet the last two seasons and Emily Craker, top row and second from the right, won a D-2 State Championship on the balance beam last season. The last two seasons of Reedsburg Beaver gymnastics have been two of the best in school history with back-to-back trips as a full team to the WIAA State Meet, school record team and individual scores and even a state championship last year for Emily Craker on the balance beam.
