The Cazenovia Reds stand at 0-2 for the Night League season in Home Talent Baseball after the Reds fell 3-2 in extra innings at Dodgeville on Thursday night.

The Home Talent Baseball season is now underway for the Reedsburg Pirates as the first two league games took place over the weekend.

Weston is working with a compromised pitching staff on the baseball diamond in recent weeks with the inability of Garrett Jennings to throw and with three conference games in three days, it caught up with them on Thursday in a loss to Ridge and Valley champion Ithaca after two wins in two days against La Farge.

Last year saw the end of 10-year plus drought without a conference championship for Reedsburg Beaver baseball and now, the Beavers are celebrating a second straight title.

The second season begins this week for Beaver softball with the start of the WIAA playoffs and if a goal is to take some momentum into the post-season, mission accomplished for the Beavers who closed out the regular season and conference season with a pair of strong games on back-to-back days.

The Reedsburg Beavers went into last week’s Badger Small Track and Field Meet in Stoughton as the likely favorite to win the boys team championship with the success they’ve had this season as a team with multiple team titles in various meets and individually setting four new school records.

Athletes from the Ithaca/Weston Track and Field co-op certainly showed off their abilities last Tuesday in the Ridge and Valley Conference Meet at Kickapoo High School as nine first-place finishes were racked up by I/W competitors, which included a pair of three-event conference champions.

The Cazenovia Reds got underway on Friday night with their Home Talent League Baseball schedule for this year but it was a rough night as the Reds fell 13-0, in five innings, to Reedsburg in Night League action in Caz.

Reedsburg put the wraps on a very solid regular season this past week on the tennis court as the Beavers now focus on the WIAA Tournament season this week.

The stormy weather cleared off in time for play to commence this week in the Monday Night Men’s Golf League at the Reedsburg Country Club.

There were three teams that shared first place this week, all with 5.5 points apiece, including Country Overhead Door Service, Evergreen Custom Builders and MB&E CPA’s.
