Beaver golfers hope to open conference slate this week

As is the case with many area high school spring sports teams, the Reedsburg Beaver Boys Golf team was unable to open the 2024 schedule this past week as an invite slated for Lake Wisconsin was postponed twice due to snow and wet grounds with a May 8 make-up date having been set.

Beavers fall to MG, DeForest on soccer field

Reedsburg is underway in the 2024 high school girls soccer season. Reedsburg’s season opener at Monona Grove was moved from Thursday to Friday to allow for more drying time after last week’s snowfall so the Reedsburg-Tomah contest at RAHS was re-scheduled for April 26.

Reedsburg's Sydney Cherney named All-State 2nd Team

Reedsburg senior guard Sydney Cherney was named All-State second team in girls basketball by Associated Press as announced last week. Cherney had the best season, statistically, of any girls player in the state this season, leading the state at 34 points per game, and in rebounds at 18.5 per game while averaging 6.5 assists per contest which put her near the top of the state list in that category as well. Cherney will play collegiately at Grand Valley State in Michigan next year. (Reedsburg Independent file photo)

When you have a season like the one Reedsburg’s Sydney Cherney enjoyed on the basketball court, it warrants plenty of recognition and more honors were bestowed upon Cherney last week.
