Four Reedsburg educators win Excellence in Teaching Awards

The School District of Reedsburg recognized top talent in the latest round of Excellence in Teaching Awards.

Winners include Meadow Woolever, a First Grade teacher at Pineview Elementary; Jeff Herschleb, art teacher at Webb Middle School; Theresa Carey, English teacher at RAHS; and Joanne Brunett, academic support teacher at RAHS.

Reedsburg goes back to school Sept. 5

The buses will start rolling again through Reedsburg.

Public school students in Grades 1-9 go back starting Sept. 5.

Orientation sessions for 4K and 5K are Sept. 5, with the first official day being Sept. 6.

Students in 10-12 Grades also start Sept. 6.

RAHS Cornfeast is Sept. 1

An annual fundraiser to help kick off the start of school will be held prior to the Sept. 1 football game at Reedsburg Area High School.

Cornfeast will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sweet corn, hot dogs, brats, chips, drinks and desserts will be sold to raise money for National Honor Society scholarships.

Community Learning Center preps for another school year

School Board approves several purchases for upcoming year

The School District of Reedsburg will have some new equipment with the start of the school year.

On Monday night, the School Board unanimously approved several proposals to purchase supplies for education and transportation.

School District hosts open house

The School District of Reedsburg will hold an open house from noon to 6 p.m. Aug. 31 in preparation of classes starting after Labor Day.

This will be an opportunity for parents, families and friends to tour buildings and meet staff.

There is no charge to attend.

There may have been a drought but Garden School went ahead as planned this summer at Pineview Elementary School.

RAHS unveils Viking Village Beaver Pavilion

A new outdoor structure at Reedsburg Area High School will be opened to the public on Aug. 18.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Viking Village Beaver Pavilion will begin at 6 p.m. The ceremony will feature the band and dance students. The Gridiron Club will also sell concessions from 5 to 7 p.m.

RAHS changes Homecoming Parade route

Reedsburg Area High School Homecoming will look quite different this fall.

Student Council, which organizes the celebration, announced that it has altered the parade route, among other activities.
