Ag in the Classroom announces essay contest winners

This spring, fourth and fifth graders from Weston, St. Peter's, Sacred Heart and Prairie Ridge participated in the annual Agriculture in the Classroom (AITC) Essay Contest. More than 250 students wrote essays on the topic, You're Gonna Need Milk for That - Wisconsin Dairy Fuels our Bodies, Communities, and Economy.

Math team receives winning news

In March, numerous Webb Middle School sixth through eighth grade students participated in the Wisconsin Mathematics Council State Math Contest. Recently, the school received the news that the 7th/8th-grade math team earned first place in the team competition, along with several individual top-place finishers.

‘We did it!’ Class of 2023 graduates from Reedsburg Area High School

Around 220 seniors took home diplomas last Friday night at Reedsburg Area High School.

Graduation was held in the varsity gym, where families and friends packed the stands to see the Class of 2023 embark on its next life journey. The ceremony included performances by the RAHS Symphonic Band and Chamber Singers.

Weston seeks support for Sheep Project

A meeting about continuing the Weston Sheep Project is set for June 1.

The gathering will begin at 6 p.m. at the High School. Anyone who is interested in helping with the project or finding out more about its future is invited to attend.

Hats off to grads!

Reedsburg Area High School graduation will start at 7:30 p.m. May 26 in the varsity gym.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for spectators with tickets. Those who don’t have tickets can watch from the CAL Center.

The ceremony will be streamed on the School District’s Facebook page and teamreedsburg.com.

School Board approves fee increases, prairie project

Sports fees are going up at the School District of Reedsburg, and there will be new charges for non-athletic extra-curricular activities.

School Board members approved the proposal during Monday night’s regular monthly meeting.

Fiscal Facts: Passage rates fall for K-12 referenda

While still passing in sizable numbers in the April 2023 election, local ballot referenda to allow school districts to exceed state property tax limits passed at the lowest rate since 2010. The decline comes after years in which such measures were passed in record numbers and amounts.

Eleven RAHS students made it to the State Forensics Competition on April 22. Out of the seven events where they competed, they took home two gold (perfect score) medals, three silvers and two bronzes.
