Wisconsin’s nine-day gun-deer season runs Nov. 18-26.

DNR statistics show that Sauk County’s herd has been growing steadily since 2012 in forests. Since then, the deer population has risen from an estimated 18,700 to 34,400. Current prognostics show the herd could max out at 35,000 this year, despite hunting.
