Barbershop hosts Business after Five

The Reedsburg Area Chamber of Commerce will present a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Annie’s Barbershop on Oct. 26.

The welcome will take place at 4 p.m., followed by a Business after Five until 7 p.m.

This is a free networking opportunity for the public to meet and learn more about the business and the chamber.

Common Council approves ambulance service proposals

Reedsburg EMS will be able to serve rural communities following Monday night’s Common Council meeting.

Council unanimously approved two measures related to Reedsburg Area Ambulance Service, which only continues to grow and expand its coverage area.

Reedsburg Area Medical Center makes top 50 of Best Places to Work

Reedsburg Area Medical Center made a substantial jump in this year’s Best Places to Work list.

The most recent roster has RAMC at No. 38 out of 100. This is the third time RAMC has made the list. In 2022, it landed at No. 46. In 2020, it was at No. 43.

Modern Healthcare released a special supplement with the list on Oct. 2.

Royal Bank leader elected to Federal Delegate Board

The president and chief executive officer of Royal Bank has been elected to the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) Federal Delegate Board.

Dan Ravenscroft, who is based out of the Elroy location, will serve on the board for the 2024-2025 term.

Lack of participation forces City to look elsewhere for commission, committee members

Fewer and fewer people are interested in local government, and that behavior is having a problematic effect on the City of Reedsburg.

The municipality has been struggling to find volunteers for its commissions, committees and boards. The situation is so severe that the parameters have been changed to try and attract participants.

Kurtz named Friend of County Government

The Wisconsin Counties Association has awarded Rep. Tony Kurtz, R-Wonewoc, with the 2023 WCA Friend of County Government.

He was co-named with Sen. Mary Felzkowski, R-Irma, for his work on the shared revenue bill.
