Historical Perspective: Dial me up

This is one of the rotary dial telephones that can be seen and operated at the Sauk County Historical Society Museum in Baraboo. The museum at 531 Fourth Ave. is open Fridays and Saturdays from noon to 4 p.m. (Sauk County Historical Society photo)

The dial telephone is as alien to today’s generation as the crank phone was to their parents. The evolution of land-line phones has been a long and winding road.
