The Helping Hands Mitten Program, which provides gifts for area children in need, will begin Friday, Nov. 3. Gifts will be collected through Sunday, Dec. 3.

This program, which is organized by the Reedsburg Area Chamber of Commerce, will take place from 7 to 9 a.m. Nov. 9 at the Chamber office, 240 Railroad St.
It’s time for the local Boy Scouts’ Camping for Cans initiative.
Troop 247 will stand outside Viking Village Foods starting Nov. 4 to collect non-perishable food for the Reedsburg Area Food Pantry. When evening arrives, they’ll build shelters out of cardboard boxes and camp out all night to raise awareness for homelessness.
The Friends of the Reedsburg Library group has planned its Grateful Bread Day on Monday, Nov. 13. The goal is to gather more bakers interested in the event, as well as increase the quantity of yeast breads, which have become increasingly popular.
A Wonewoc man was taken into custody Oct. 25 following reports of an afternoon crash.
According to the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office, a vehicle went into the ditch along Highway 33 at about 3:30 p.m. The driver was able to make it out of the ditch but the vehicle then became disabled.
