The all-volunteer fire department turns 100 this year, and is celebrating with its annual festival this weekend.

It’s not just a time to have fun, it’s also an opportunity to raise funds for the department.

Reedsburg Area Medical Center has received the highest possible rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

The five-star designation is given to about 8.2 percent of hospitals nationwide. That equates to about 380 hospitals across the country.

Sex offender released in Sauk County

A sex offender, who will be homeless, has been released into Sauk County.

According to the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office, Jonathan M. Phillips, 42, was brought to Sauk County on Aug. 16. Phillips is white, six feet tall, weighs 317 pounds and has brown eyes and brown hair.

Wounded veterans project rolls into Reedsburg

A major ride to support veterans will stop in Reedsburg on Aug. 22.

The Project Hero 2024 Great Lakes Challenge will roll through on its way to Madison. Riders will include wounded veterans, first responders and supporters. This 400-mile ride began in St. Paul, Minnesota, and will wrap up in Madison on Aug. 24.
