Obituary: Jeannette J. “Jean” Benseman

Jeanette J. “Jean” Benseman, 76 of Reedburg, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 5, 2023 at the Reedsburg Area Senior Life Center. She was born December 1, 1946, in Richland Center, the daughter of Robert and Hermana (Plachetka) Stanek.

She graduated from Weston High School in 1964. She was married to Gordon L. Benseman October 17, 1964. She was employed at the Super 8 Motel in Wisconsin Dells for 20 plus years until her retirement. She enjoyed playing cards, collecting angels, bird watching, listening to music, and having a cat around. She also loved a good book.

Survivors include her children Allen (Angela) Benseman and Malinda Castile (fiance’ Craig Henke); grandchildren Logan Benseman and Brooke Benseman, Colin Castile and Shaylee Castile, sister Mary Warn, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gordon, sister Marvline Weinke, and brothers-in-law Charles Warn and Wayne Weinke.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 10 at 11 AM at Reedsburg Church of God with Rev. Debbie Sammons officiating. Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery in Reedsburg. Visitation will be held from 9 AM until the time of service at the church Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be made at www.grassefs.com.
