RAMC group prepares Tree of Lights

RAMC’s volunteer program invites the public to recognize loved ones with its annual Tree of Lights.

Partners of Reedsburg Area Medical Center is selling “lights” to be placed on the tree. These lights are meant to honor, memorialize or salute individuals. Each one costs $5. The name of each honored person is then placed on the Board of Honor next to the tree in the hospital’s main lobby.

To participate in the program, pick up a donation form at the hospital’s information desk or the gift shop. Forms will also be available from 2 to 5 p.m. Nov. 18 and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Viking Village Foods.

Each year, the Tree of Lights brings in money for scholarships, which are given to students pursuing a career in nursing or another health care field. Last year, Partners was able to give scholarships to nine applicants.

The Tree of Lights has been an RAMC tradition for nearly five decades.
