Naturally Speaking: Pokeweed

Pokeweed isn’t the most familiar plant.

The names vary, as well as the spellings, of this native plant.  Poke salad, poke sallet, inkberry, scoke and pigeonberry are some.

Uses vary, too, from medicine, food, dye, ink, wine colorant and many sources call the plant’s parts poisonous.
