Free workshops focus on childcare
The Wisconsin Early Childhood Association will hold free workshops this summer.
The goal is educate both people who are new to the childcare sector and those who are experienced.
Topics will include the basics of childcare, such has how to use budgeting, marketing and technology; best practices and policies; managing waiting lists; insurance, lending and legal issues; accounting and record keeping; funding strategies; and business models, such as LLCs or family operations.
These workshops will be offered from 8:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. June 12 and 26 and July 10 and 24 over Zoom.
Participants will have the chance to access safety classes required for childcare businesses, such as first aid, CPR and child abuse and neglect prevention, as well as the required Department of Children and Families coursework.

The program is offered through the UW-Madison Extension, Sauk County Development Corp., Small Business Development Center, Wisconsin Early Childhood Association, Richland County Economic Development and Prosperity Southwest.
